The Association for the Advancement of Journalistic Practices “Innovative Media – Skopje,” under which Portalb.mk is led, is organizing the discussion panel “The Position and Role of Albanian Women in Rural Areas: Opportunities and Challenges.”
The discussion will take place on Thursday (September 5 2024), starting from 16:00 at City Park Hotel, Skopje.
This panel will feature various experts and professionals who will discuss important issues affecting Albanian women, especially those in rural areas. Topics will include the challenges they face, opportunities for their empowerment, also strategies for improving their social and economic status.
Speakers will include: President of the Women in Science Network, Elisabeta Bajrami Ollogu; university professor, Gjylimsere Kasapi; President of the Executive Council of the organization “Antiko,” Gjynere Nebiu; Edlira Destani from the organization “Dua Ylberin”; as well as experts Mjellma Mehmeti and Venera Gudaçi. The panel will be moderated by the editor in-chief of Portalb.mk, Elida Zylbeari.

The activity is organized as part of the project “Reliable and Diverse Reporting in Albanian” funded by the Government of the United Kingdom and implemented by the British Council in partnership with the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network, the Thomson Foundation, and the International NGO Training and Research Centre (INTRAC).
